Does Shoebox copy or upload my photos? No. Your photos never leave your Photos library. Shoebox keeps only a reference to each photo plus your own notes (favorites, groups, captions). Deleting Shoebox never deletes a photo.
Some photos from my trip are missing. Three usual causes. 1) Photo access is set to Limited, so Shoebox only sees the photos you selected: open Settings â Apps â Shoebox â Photos and choose Full Access. 2) The photo is just outside the trip's dates: edit the trip and widen the range, or use Add Photos from the trip's menu. 3) The photo was taken in another time zone: Edit Trip and set the trip's time zone to where it happened.
I swiped a photo to the trash by mistake. Tap Undo right after, or open the trip's Trash from the ¡¡¡ menu and tap the photo to restore it. Nothing leaves your library until you tap Empty Trash and confirm the system prompt.
What does Empty Trash do? It deletes those photos from your Photos library, on every device that syncs with iCloud Photos. They go to Photos â Recently Deleted for 30 days, where you can still recover them. To take them out of the trip without deleting, use Remove from trip only.
What are look-alikes? Near-identical shots taken minutes apart. Shoebox tags them with a small number on the first one; tap it to open Compare with two side by side. Detection runs on your device. You can turn it off in Settings.
Did my edit change the original photo? Edits are saved as adjustments to the same photo, the way Photos does it. Revert any time in Shoebox (Edit â Revert) or in the Photos app (Edit â Revert).
How do I post to Instagram or another app? Open a group and tap Share. Your caption is copied to the clipboard and the photos go to the share sheet in the order you set. Pick the app, then paste the caption. If an app won't accept all the photos at once, use Export as album from the group's ¡¡¡ menu and select them from that album inside the app.
Do my trips sync to my iPad or a second iPhone? Not yet. Each device keeps its own trips; your photos sync through iCloud Photos as usual.
I got a new phone. Are my trips gone? If you restored from a backup, they come back with it. If you set up as new, they don't; your photos are unaffected. Tip: Export Favorites to Photos in a trip's menu creates a real album in Photos that survives anything.
How do I restore my purchase? Settings â Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with. Shoebox Unlock is a one-time purchase, no subscription, shared with your family through Family Sharing.
Can I get a refund? Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too: reportaproblem.apple.com â find Shoebox Unlock â Request a refund. If something is broken, email us first and we'll fix it.

Shoebox does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or user content.
Data We Collect None. Shoebox has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no third-party SDKs.
Your Photos Shoebox reads your photo library on your device to show the photos that belong to a trip. Photos are never copied, uploaded, or sent anywhere. Edits are saved to the same photo in your library using Apple's Photos framework. Look-alike detection runs entirely on your device.
Data Stored on Your Device Your trips, favorites, groups, captions and settings are stored only on your device. They are included in your device backups like any other app data and are deleted when you delete the app.
Purchases In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Shoebox receives only a confirmation that the purchase is valid and never sees your payment details.
Third-Party Services Shoebox does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Children Shoebox does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
